Sorrento House

This property was originally a modest weatherboard built in the early 90s with a tired and dated interior. The new owner’s vison was for a Hamptons style holiday retreat to suit breezy living for friends and family. The extensive renovation and high standard of build quality makes the completed project feel like a new home.
To achieve the vision the owner commissioned MMAD Architects, F2 Interior Design and iSolarbuilders to bring it to reality.

Before construction work on the house could begin extensive ground works to the front and rear of the property were undertaken to make better use of the steep block. Careful consideration was paid to working around the native and protected Moonah trees. While the groundworks were being undertaken the in ground pool at the rear of the property was installed.

Rooflines were retained but no interior rooms stayed the same with the original building being stripped back to a bare frame. The final reconfigured floor plan resulted in a large open plan living area, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and two powder rooms.

The garage was extended to house the owner’s collection of cars, boats and jet skis. The outdoor BBQ and living area incorporate motor controlled cafe blinds, effectively making another outdoor room. The poolside cabana contains a powder room and everything needed for outdoor entertaining.

Finishes as usual are of the highest quality, with the exterior split cedar shingles imported from the US, floors utilise polished concrete and engineered wide oak boards and a kitchen fit out incorporating Wolf kitchen appliances.

This project highlights iSolar Builders, willingness to deliver a client’s vision, through a can-do-attitude and commitment to finishes of the highest standard.
